FAQs

What Are Dippin' Dots?

Dippin' Dots are tiny beads of ice cream, yogurt, sherbet and flavored ice. Microbiologist Curt Jones used his background in cryogenic technology to invent Dippin' Dots in 1988. His invention is now considered the unique, futuristic and fun way to eat ice cream!

Are Dippin' Dots Like The Ice Cream The Astronauts Eat?

No. Dippin' Dots ice cream is flash frozen and can still melt if not stored at the appropriate temperature.
The foods that the astronauts eat during their space missions are freeze-dried and in the case of ice cream, do not melt.

Why Is Dippin' Dots The Ice Cream Of The Future?

Much like microwave ovens revolutionized the way we cook, Dippin' Dots is revolutionizing the way we think of ice cream. Our high-tech cryogenic freezing process is a highly advanced method of ice cream production, unique within the ice cream industry.

How Are Dippin' Dots Made?

Dippin' Dots are beads of cryogenically frozen ice cream. We use a combination of natural ice cream ingredients, the same found in conventional ice cream, and flash freeze it into tiny beads. The ice cream is then packaged and shipped to our retailers. All Dippin' Dots for our domestic customers are produced at our headquarters in Paducah, Kentucky.

Why Are Dippin' Dots In Little "beads" Rather Than Other Shapes?

Just for fun! Kids (of all ages) can actually play with their food as they roll the little beads of Dippin' Dots around in their cups!

Can I Buy Dippin' Dots In Groceries Or Online?

In order to maintain the fun and unique qualities of Dippin' Dots products, we do not sell them at traditional ''take home'' outlets. Because of the sub-zero storage requirements, Dippin' Dots would begin to stick together in your home freezer. We hope you'll continue to enjoy Dippin' Dots at our Franchised stores and the hundreds of amusement facilities that sell our product. For bulk purchases, some of our Franchise stores offer "Party Packs" for parties and catering. You'll find a list of our stores on our website location guide. You can also buy Dippin' Dots online for delivery to your home or office. Click here for more info.
