FDA Warning Regarding Liquid Nitrogen
What you need to know about Dippin' Dots and Liquid Nitrogen
Posted September 7, 2018
The FDA recently issued a warning on consuming foods processed with liquid nitrogen at the point of sale (where customers purchase and consume products) and adding liquid nitrogen to food items immediately prior to consumption. While Dippin’ Dots are frozen using liquid nitrogen, Dippin’ Dots are made at a factory, not on location where it is purchased, so liquid nitrogen is not present when Dippin’ Dots are consumed.
The liquid nitrogen will completely dissipate from the product by the time it ships from the Dippin’ Dots manufacturing facility and the product will be at a temperature safe for consumption when it is served to the customer. Additionally, liquid nitrogen would not be present in Dippin’ Dots at the point of sale (the location where it is purchased) or added prior to being consumed.
